Perform literature searches, write RFPs, write case studies, contribute to innovations series and lunch 'n learns and support all efforts at bid defense meetings.
Heavy involvement with operations groups as well as other business segments (CME and Innovus)
Manage medical operations in the RID Therapeutic Area for this fast growing, medically focused and state of the art global CRO
Responsibility for medical/clinical components of the following product/service areas: clinical research and data analysis, study feasibility, study design and protocol development, reporting and publishing, consulting, and overall service delivery
Serve as lead physician for the RID Therapeutic Business Unit, and act as major "out front" person for the enterprise
Lead, mentor, train and assist with the development of the physician staff. Physicians are located in a number of offices including Basking Ridge, NJ, Cary, NC
Drive the continuing development of the highest quality of clinical research for the company
Promote a culture of medical and clinical excellence for the company
Support all RID related training initiatives for clinical operations staff
Work very closely with the CEO of the company on overall Therapeutic Area strategy and tactical implementation of the strategy
Serve as subject matter expert on Endocrinology issues and help with the development and implementation of a plan to substantially grow the company's global business in this critical therapeutic area
Heavy interface with current and potential pharmaceutical and biotech customers
Assist with marketing and new business development efforts in RID and provide senior medical/clinical support for all company activities
Drive the design, development and completion of the highest quality studies, with primary focus on Phases I — III B
Expand and nurture existing client relationships, interface with senior medical/clinical leadership with client companies
Assist with the overall growth of the i3 Research brand name in the marketplace
Serve as leading spokesperson for the company in regional and national pharmaceutical and healthcare Therapeutic forums as necessary
Serve as a thought leader, as it relates to the CRO industry and the RID therapeutic area specifically
Stay current in nationwide in RID research issues

Skills:
|
PhD or equivalent experience with strong background in Respiratory and Infectious Disease Therapeutics
Top-level academic training, internships, residencies and fellowships
Strong clinical practice experience, strong history of patient care
Subject matter expert in Respiratory and Infectious Disease research, trends and patient care strategies
Experience in clinical research and patient care/investigational site experience
Extensive experience writing or editing reports of scientific research
Experience in cultivating business contacts and projects
Proven physician managerial skills and an international perspective
Fluent in English
Clinical Trial Experience acquired preferably in a pharmaceutical/biotech company and/or CRO background required. Academic Medical Center experience helpful (e.g. Clinical Trial Unit, Clinical Pharmacology Department) including study design and development and management
Biostatistical and Analysis understanding
Regulatory exposure and knowledge preferred
High energy, positive, driven to succeed
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Supervisory experience of personnel with varied technical and educational backgrounds
Strong interest and experience in mentoring and working with physician and non-physician managers
