Responsibilities include medical oversight of clinical trials to ensure company SOPs, sponsor directives, and regulatory requirements are followed. The medical director will provide professional services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries to include: safety and pharmacovigilence, medical monitoring, medical writing, and feasibility assessments. Provides oversight of global trials to ensure company SOPs, sponsor directives, and international guidelines are followed. Serves as medical consultant, when requested. Supports Business Development activities through participation in core proposal team activities, feasibility assessments, review of proposals/contracts for medical services, attending and presenting at investigator and sponsor meetings, and attendance at meetings with sponsor. Manages network of key opinion leaders to enhance our therapeutic expertise and contributions to presentations, feasibility assessments, and patient enrollment goals. Works closely with Clinical Project Management professionals to ensure that operational functions are executed effectively. Analyzes and interprets trial results. Develops study documents and reports, including relevant sections of regulatory submissions. Leverages clinical trial experience, medical knowledge, and project management skills.

Skills:
|
Required Experience At least 10-15 years of clinical development experience within pharmaceutical or biotech company. CRO experience strongly preferred. Excellent knowledge of ICH/GCP/FDA regulations and guidelines. Creative problem solving skills needed. Effective oral and written communications and presentation skills a must. Experience writing or editing reports of scientific research. Experience in cultivating business contacts and projects.
Education Requirements MD required, MD/PhD a plus. US Board Certified Required for this postion. MD degree, with post-graduate training in Internal Medicine and experience and/or training in its subspecialty areas, particularly Cardiovascular, Infectious Disease (Anti-Infective), or CNS. Board certification and current medical licensure preferred.
